Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Contact@bhcaninetransition.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

No. Before Home is not foster care. Dogs stay in licensed pet hotels and are cared for under the hotel’s existing boarding protocols. They do not live in private homes.

Each placement is privately funded by Before Home for the full duration of the dog’s stay—until the dog is adopted.

Dogs are selected collaboratively with shelters and must be:

  • Behaviorally appropriate for a pet hotel setting
  • Fully vaccinated and medically cleared
  • Suitable for interaction with staff and controlled environments

All adoption inquiries, applications, approvals, and final placements are handled entirely by the shelter, following their standard adoption procedures.

Yes, when appropriate. Meet-and-greets are coordinated between the shelter, Before Home, and the pet hotel to ensure smooth scheduling and minimal disruption.
